The NE MNResponds MRC was formed in May, 2006 in cooperation with 7 county public health departments, 3 tribes, and 16 hospitals within the region and currently has a database of about 350 volunteers of various skills, trainings, and backgrounds. Although our focus is emergency response, we continue to expand our volunteer opportunities to include everyday public health functions.
What is Required of Me? Becoming a member of the NE MNResponds Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) is a simple process. Once you have registered at www.mnresponds.org and are accepted into the database, all we require is that you attend one of our free Volunteer Orientations. Joining the Medical Reserve Corps is not a weekly or even monthly volunteer obligation as you may only respond during an emergency, if you are available. By registering, you are simply agreeing to be a resource we may call upon during times of need. NE MNResponds MRC provides free additional training, often accompanied by CEU's, to supplement your Orientation. You may also choose to deploy within our region or to also be available for state-wide responses. As a member, you can expect to be contacted regularly regarding: To apply today, please visit www.mnresponds.org! |
